AGARTALA: The Amra Bangali party staged a protest in front of the state party office here on Sunday, condemning what it termed derogatory remarks made about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Party workers and supporters gathered at the venue, raising slogans against those allegedly responsible for invoking Netaji’s name in an objectionable manner. The demonstrators demanded strict action against the individuals concerned, asserting that any disrespect shown to the freedom fighter’s legacy would not be tolerated.

Speaking on the occasion, party leaders reportedly reiterated Amra Bangali’s long-standing position as a defender of Bengali identity and Netaji’s legacy in the region, according to sources present at the protest.

The demonstration remained peaceful, with heightened police presence near the state office as a precautionary measure, sources said.
