Charilam: Serious allegations of irregular attendance and lax discipline among teaching staff have surfaced at Aralia High School, under the jurisdiction of the Charilam School Inspector’s office, with guardians expressing strong resentment over the institution’s work culture.
Speaking to the media, the guardian of a student alleged that several teachers do not arrive at school on time, remain preoccupied with their mobile phones in the staff room, and fail to conduct classes properly. The guardian further claimed that teachers show little concern for the wellbeing and academic progress of students.
During a visit to the school on Thursday, it was observed that a GT teacher, Shilpi Majumder, entered the school premises well after the morning assembly had concluded. When approached for a response, Headmaster Uday Manik Debbarma declined to comment on the allegations.
The incident has raised questions about accountability and supervision at the school, with guardians demanding that the education department take note of the matter and ensure corrective measures are put in place. No official response from the School Inspector’s office had been received at the time of filing this report.
