Taxpayers’ Money Down the Drain? Massive LED Screen in Sabroom Breaks Down Within a Month of Installation

SABROOM: A wave of resentment has swept through Sabroom town following the premature breakdown of a massive LED screen, which was installed at the central intersection near the Sabroom Auto Stand just a month ago. Built using lakhs of rupees from the public exchequer, the screen was intended to broadcast state government achievements and Sabroom Nagar Panchayat’s development projects.

Instead, the expensive display has been sitting completely dark and non-functional for the past 10 to 12 days, drawing sharp criticism from residents over a blatant lack of administrative accountability.

Local traders revealed that the screen malfunctioned shortly after its high-profile installation. To make matters worse, merchants and pedestrians pointed out that municipal maintenance is collapsing across the Sabroom market area, where more than half of the installed streetlights are currently out of order, plunging parts of the commercial hub into darkness after sunset.

Condemning the apparent waste of taxpayers’ money, local business owners and residents have demanded that the municipal board and sub-divisional administration break their silence. They are urging authorities to fix the technical snag immediately and restore the town’s streetlights before public frustration escalates further.
