KHOWAI: In a heartwarming turn of events, the Khowai police successfully rescued a 26-year-old missing youth and reunited him with his anxious family on Monday morning, capping off a stressful three-day search operation.
The youth, identified as Rohini Kumar Jamatia, had mysteriously gone missing from his home in the Raiyabari area, falling under the jurisdiction of Killa Police Station, three days ago. After exhausting all personal efforts to locate him, his distraught family members had officially registered a missing person’s diary at the Killa police station.
The breakthrough came on Sunday when an alert patrolling team from the Khowai Police Station spotted Rohini wandering aimlessly in the Mahadevtilla area. Recognizing his vulnerability, officers brought him safely to the station and immediately flashed his details to Killa police, who subsequently informed his family.
On Monday morning, Rohini’s mother arrived at the Khowai station to claim her son. In a touching gesture that won praise from locals, Khowai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Krishnadhan Sarkar not only handed the youth over to his mother but also personally gave her cash from his own pocket to cover their vehicle fare back home safely.
