AGARTALA: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and Tripura Youth Federation (TYF) submitted a deputation to the Director General of Police (DGP) in front of the police headquarters here, raising a set of demands centred on establishing the rule of law and building a drug-free Tripura.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, DYFI state president Palash Bhowmik outlined the organisations’ concerns, though specific details of the full charter of demands were not immediately available.
The deputation reflects continuing pressure from youth organisations on the state administration to strengthen law enforcement and intensify the crackdown on narcotics, an issue that has repeatedly featured in political and civil society discourse in Tripura.
Police headquarters officials are expected to examine the demands raised in the deputation, with further response from the administration awaited.
