AGARTALA: ISKCON on Tuesday held a press conference at Purbasha Ground here to announce arrangements for this year’s Rath Yatra, one of the principal festivals of Vaishnavism.
Addressing the conference, ISKCON Vice-President Shri Dham Govinda Das, along with other senior members, said the festival carries the message of Lord Sri Jagannath’s grace, love, and universal unity. He informed that the procession of Lord Sri Jagannath, Sri Baladev, and Devi Subhadra on three elaborately decorated chariots will be the highlight of the celebrations, accompanied by Harinam Sankirtan, bhajans, dance performances, and a devotional atmosphere throughout.
The Rath Yatra will commence from Purbasha Ground on July 16 and proceed through the streets of Agartala before returning to conclude at the same venue.
The press conference also announced that the Governor of Tripura, along with state Minister Tinku Roy, will attend the inaugural ceremony of the Rath Yatra, lending official presence to the religious festivities.
Devotees and residents across the city are expected to join the celebrations in large numbers.
