CM Holds Press Meet at SPM Civil Hospital, Assures Adequate Doctor Strength

Agartala: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who also holds the Health portfolio, interacted with the media at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (SPM) Civil Hospital here on Sunday, touching upon healthcare services and other issues concerning the state.

Addressing concerns over medical manpower, the Chief Minister assured that the state would not face any shortage of doctors going forward, indicating the government’s continued focus on strengthening the healthcare workforce.

Highlighting infrastructure development at the hospital, Dr. Saha said Rs 24 crore had been spent on upgrading SPM Civil Hospital, one of the state’s key healthcare institutions, though he did not elaborate on the specific components of this expenditure.

The press conference reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to showcase improvements in the public health sector amid periodic reviews of hospital infrastructure and staffing across Tripura.
