Agartala:The All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) on Sunday organised a citizens’ convention at the Press Club here, appealing to the public to extend support to an upcoming national convention against atrocities on women and children scheduled to be held in Hyderabad.
Speakers at the convention reportedly highlighted the rising incidents of violence and atrocities against women and children across the country, calling for greater public awareness and mobilisation ahead of the national-level programme.
The Hyderabad convention is expected to bring together delegates and activists from across India to deliberate on measures to curb such crimes and press for stronger protective mechanisms for women and children.
Organisers at the Agartala event urged citizens, students, and civil society members to actively participate in and support the national initiative.
