Agartala:Beautification work on the long-abandoned pond adjacent to Abhoynagar Bazar is nearing completion, with the project set to be formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, sources said.
As part of preparations ahead of the inauguration, Agartala Mayor and local MLA Deepak Majumder visited the site on Sunday and inspected the pond, reviewing the progress of the beautification work firsthand.
The pond, which had remained in a neglected state for years, is being redeveloped as part of civic efforts to improve public spaces in the area. According to reports, the work is now in its final stages, with only minor tasks left before the project is ready for its formal launch.
Once completed, the beautified pond is expected to serve as a recreational and aesthetic addition to the Abhoynagar locality, officials indicated.
