Residents Allege Years of Neglect, Unspent Funds in Ward 14’s Ranjit Nagar

AGARTALA: Residents of the Ranjit Nagar area under Ward No. 14 have raised sharp allegations of civic neglect, claiming that drains in the locality remain uncleaned despite funds being allocated by the Municipal Corporation for maintenance work.

Locals allege that no visible development has taken place in the area over the past five years, questioning where the corporation’s funds have been utilised. Residents further claim that neither drainage work nor road repair has been carried out in the ward, directly blaming Ward No. 14 corporator Snigdha Das for the alleged inaction.

With elections drawing closer, residents say such grievances over stalled civic work are increasingly coming to the fore, adding pressure on local representatives to account for unfinished projects.

There has been no official response yet from corporator Snigdha Das or the Municipal Corporation regarding the allegations of fund misuse or pending drain and road work in the ward.
