AGARTALA, July 2: A departmental review meeting for the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department for the financial year 2026-27 was held on Thursday at the Agartala State Guest House in the presence of Minister Sudhangshu Das.
The meeting deliberated on various aspects of the budget allocated to the department, along with a detailed discussion on the different welfare schemes currently under implementation for the Scheduled Caste community across the state.
Officials also discussed the department’s future roadmap, outlining how it plans to carry forward its welfare initiatives and administrative functions in the coming days. The session brought together senior officials of the department to review ongoing programmes and chart out strategies for effective utilisation of funds in the new fiscal year.
Minister Sudhangshu Das reportedly emphasised the need for the timely and effective implementation of schemes meant for the upliftment of the Scheduled Caste community, urging officials to ensure that the benefits reach the intended beneficiaries without delay.
The government has been focusing on strengthening welfare mechanisms for marginalised communities as part of its broader development agenda for the state.
