Ramnagar Area Committee Stages Protest at Police Headquarters Against Price Rise, Crimes Against Women

AGARTALA: The Ramnagar Area Committee on Thursday organised a protest demonstration in front of the Police Headquarters here, raising voice against the rising incidents of crimes against women and the continuous price rise of daily essential commodities.

Protesters raised slogans against the hike in electricity tariffs, petrol and diesel prices, and the rising cost of cooking gas, alleging that the burden of these price increases has fallen disproportionately on the common people. They also expressed serious concern over the growing number of crimes against women in the state, demanding stricter action and better safety measures from the administration.

Members of the committee, holding placards and banners, demanded immediate intervention from the state government to control prices of essential commodities and ensure stronger law and order measures to curb violence against women.

The protesters submitted a charter of demands to the police administration, urging swift action on the issues raised. The demonstration concluded peacefully after the protest.

Further details regarding the organisational affiliation of the Ramnagar Area Committee and the response from the police administration are awaited.
