DHARMANAGAR: The North District Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) organised a condolence meeting in memory of former MLA and minister Faizur Rahman at the Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Dharmanagar.
Former Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar attended the event, along with CPI(M) North District Secretary Amitabha Datta, MLA Islam Uddin, MLA Shailendranath, and Badrul Islam, son of the late Faizur Rahman, besides party leaders and workers from various levels.
Addressing the gathering, Manik Sarkar spoke on the late leader’s long political career, his organisational acumen, and his contributions to public welfare initiatives. He described Faizur Rahman as a leader of the people who worked for the interests of ordinary citizens until his last breath, adding that his contributions would continue to inspire future generations of political workers.
A large number of party workers and supporters from different parts of the North District attended the meeting to pay tribute to the late leader. The condolence meeting served as an occasion to remember his eventful life and political ideals.
