Youth in Crisis: SFI Flags Employment, Education Challenges at Agartala Meet

Agartala: A discussion meeting titled “The Future Crisis and Possibilities of the Youth” was held at Bhanu Ghosh Smriti Bhavan on Sunday, where speakers raised concerns about employment and educational opportunities facing young people in the country.

SFI All-India Secretary Srijan Bhattacharya and West Bengal State Secretary Debanjan Dey were among the key speakers at the event.

Addressing the gathering, Bhattacharya highlighted the growing unemployment crisis among youth and urged for concrete policy interventions to create meaningful job opportunities. He said the education system needed significant reforms to equip students with skills relevant to the modern job market.

Debanjan Dey stressed the importance of youth participation in democratic processes and said young people must be empowered to voice their concerns on issues affecting their future.

Both speakers called for greater investment in education, skill development, and job creation schemes, arguing that without such measures, youth frustration would continue to grow.

The discussion also touched upon issues like wage stagnation, irregular employment, and the lack of social security for young workers across sectors.
