Udaipur: A protest rally was organised in Udaipur on Sunday at the call of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and the Tribal Youth Federation, ahead of DYFI’s 20th Udaipur Divisional Conference scheduled for June 28.
The rally began at Jamtala and proceeded through Central Road, Old Motorstand, and Newtown Road before culminating back at Jamtala, with members raising slogans over a range of demands.
Addressing the gathering, DYFI’s Udaipur Divisional Secretary Shubha Chakraborty alleged that female students were facing harassment in schools and colleges, and claimed that intoxicating substances were being seized from railway wagons and post offices in the region. He further alleged that the state was witnessing a lack of employment opportunities, leaving the unemployed directionless, and claimed that women in the state continue to face atrocities.
Chakraborty said the rally was organised in protest against these issues, ahead of the federation’s upcoming divisional conference.
The protest saw participation from youth federation members and supporters from across Udaipur.
