Agartala, June 21: Bijoy Kumar School in Agartala observed International Yoga Day with a special programme organised on the school premises, ahead of the global celebration marked annually on June 21.
Agartala Mayor and local MLA Dipak Majumdar attended the event as the chief guest, along with other dignitaries and school officials.
Students of the school participated enthusiastically in a yoga demonstration, performing various asanas under the guidance of trained instructors. Teachers and staff members also joined in, turning the school campus into a vibrant hub of activity for the morning.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Dipak Majumdar spoke about the significance of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being, urging students to incorporate yoga into their daily routine from a young age. He said practices like yoga help build discipline, focus, and resilience, qualities essential for students’ overall growth.
School authorities said such programmes are organised every year to instil healthy habits among children and create awareness about the importance of holistic wellness.
The event concluded with words of appreciation for the students’ participation and a call to continue practising yoga beyond the day’s celebrations.
