Agartala: A blood donation camp was organised in Ward No. 39 under the aegis of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), drawing wide participation from local residents and ward functionaries.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha graced the occasion as the chief guest, lending his presence to encourage voluntary blood donation in the area. Agartala Mayor and local MLA Dipak Majumdar was also present at the camp, along with other civic and party functionaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries underlined the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives, noting that regular donation camps help maintain an adequate blood supply at hospitals and blood banks across the state, especially during emergencies and medical crises.
Local residents, including youth volunteers and members of social organisations, came forward in large numbers to donate blood at the camp. Health department officials and medical staff were present to oversee the donation process, ensuring proper screening and care for all donors.
The Chief Minister and Mayor appealed to citizens to make blood donation a regular habit, calling it one of the simplest yet most valuable contributions one can make towards society and humanity.
