Agartala:The Communist Party of India (Marxist) convened a two-day state committee meeting at Dasarath Deb Smriti Bhavan, drawing senior leaders from both the state and national levels of the party.
Among those present were CPI(M)’s All India General Secretary M.A. Baby, West Bengal State Secretary Md. Selim, and Polit Bureau member Sridip Bhattacharya, underscoring the significance the party leadership has placed on the meeting. From Tripura, the gathering saw the participation of Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Choudhury and former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, alongside other senior party leaders and committee members.
The two-day deliberations are understood to have focused on the party’s organizational strategy and political roadmap in the state, particularly with elections drawing closer in the coming months. Party insiders indicate that discussions also touched upon strengthening grassroots mobilization and addressing local governance issues that have been raised by the public.
The presence of top national leaders alongside state-level figures signals the importance CPI(M) is attaching to its preparations in Tripura. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s participation, in particular, was seen as significant given his continued influence within the party’s rank and file.
