Sabroom: The CPI(M) submitted a representative deputation at the Sabroom SDM office here on Monday, raising an 11-point charter of demands centred on various public interest issues.
According to party sources, the originally planned programme had included a procession to the SDM office ahead of the deputation. However, due to adverse weather conditions on the day, the procession was called off, and the deputation was instead submitted in a representative manner.
On behalf of the CPI(M) Sabroom Local Committee, local leader Manik Majumder handed over the charter of demands to Sabroom’s officiating SDM and District Magistrate, Ratan Das.
The deputation reportedly raised 11 demands concerning a range of public problems in the area, developmental requirements, and issues affecting the interests of common people.
Speaking to the media after the programme, CPI(M) Sabroom Local Committee Secretary Manik Majumder elaborated on the contents of the charter of demands and outlined the objectives behind the deputation.
