Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday honoured voluntary blood donors during the World Blood Donor Day celebration held at Prajna Bhawan, recognising their invaluable contribution to saving lives and strengthening the state’s healthcare system.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister praised blood donors for their selfless service, describing voluntary blood donation as a symbol of humanity, compassion and social responsibility.
Expressing gratitude to all donors, Saha said regular voluntary blood donation offers hope to patients in need of life-saving transfusions and ensures the availability of safe blood during medical emergencies.
“Every unit of donated blood has the potential to save lives. Voluntary blood donation is one of the noblest acts of service and plays a crucial role in supporting emergency healthcare,” the Chief Minister said.
He urged more citizens, especially the youth, to participate in blood donation drives and contribute towards building a healthier, more compassionate and socially responsible society.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of healthcare professionals, voluntary organisations and blood banks in creating awareness about the importance of regular blood donation and ensuring timely support for patients across the state.
The programme was organised by the Health and Family Welfare Department to mark World Blood Donor Day, with the participation of senior government officials, medical professionals, blood donors and volunteers.
